BIO

Toronto based artist singer/songwriter Asheley Turner grew up in a home filled with music – specifically R&B and soul of the 90’s. Whether emulating the likes of Mariah, Brandy’s smooth angelic tone or memorizing the liner notes of her uncles R&B collection, it was this decade of music that helped cultivate Asheley’s sense of self and musical taste . Listeners can feel this through Asheley’s personal work. Her airy tone, smooth runs and soul driven concepts pay homage to the era that raised her. Still an avid music fan, Asheley aims to source throwback inspiration – Lauryn Hill, SWV, Brandy, Mariah Carey, Aaliyah – with current influences – Jhene Aiko, Kehlani, H.E.R, Jazmine Sullivan – and contribute to the revival of emotive R&B.

One of a handful of female collaborators on Drake’s Scorpion album, Asheley’s additional vocals are heard throughout the Boi-1da and Allen Ritter produced, “Mob Ties”.

Asheley has been collaborating and growing, while exploring new sounds where she debuted her first single “Upper Hand” off her first upcoming project “Phases” where she showcases a collective of vulnerable emotions felt within a relationship which is expected to be released this year.
